WHAT WE BELIEVE

MISSION STATEMENT

The church’s mission is to glorify God by:

Evangelism- proclaiming His Gospel to a lost and dying world that is without hope apart from the grace of God.

Acts of Mercy – loving our neighbors as ourselves by serving those in need.

FOUNDATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A BIBLICAL CHURCH

1. Truth – In a world of half truths where God’s Word is watered down, we believe the church is to hold to the truth that God has given to the church through His Scriptures.  1 Timothy 3:15

2. Love A love for God, His Work, His Word, and our neighbors is the distinction of the church versus the world.  John 13:35

3. Faith We walk by faith, are saved by faith, and this faith is a gift from God.  Hebrews 11:6  Romans 10:8-10  Ephesians 2:8

4. Humility The church is to be made up of individuals who serve solely for the glory of God.  Luke 17:10

5. Unity – As far as it depends on us we are to be at peace with all men.  Romans 12:17-18  Ephesians 4:3, 13 John 17:20-23

6. Prayer – Prayer is God’s design for a relationship with Him.  It is an individual and corporate privilege that believers have.  John 16:23-24  Isaiah 56:7

7. Multi-Generational – The church and the parents share the responsibility to disciple and raise up our young people to be future leaders of the church, their home, and their community.  1 Timothy 4:12-16  Deuteronomy 11:19  Ephesians 6:4

8. Worship – The mind’s attention and the heart’s affection set on who God is and what He has done.  This is a daily part of the believer’s life and one of the main reasons we gather corporately.  Colossians 3:16

9. Kingdom Minded – We are to go into our world living and preaching the gospel message in accordance with the great commission.  Matthew 28:19-20  Matthew 10:7 Acts 1:8

STATEMENT OF FAITH

GOD’S WORD

We believe in the Holy Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God; the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

TRINITY

We believe in one true God, Creator of the universe and everything in it, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in Jesus Christ, His deity, incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, death by crucifixion, burial, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and personal future return in power and glory to judge the living and dead.

SALVATION

We believe that all of humanity is sinful.  That sin is transgression of God’s moral law, the Ten Commandments.  We believe that salvation is only by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, paying the penalty our sin deserved, and reconciling us to God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit.  By the Holy Spirit’s indwelling Christians have a personal relationship with God and are empowered to live a godly life and to do the work of ministry.  The Holy Spirit draws, seals, sanctifies, and guides us in all truth giving discernment between good and evil.

RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of the dead- believers to life everlasting and unbelievers to final judgment.

THE CHURCH

We believe the Church is made up of local assemblies of Christians all over the world both today and in the past that make up the Bride of Christ, for which He will return, as comprised of all whom Christ has purchased through His shed blood on the cross.
